About the project
The men change. The ritual continues.
I look at the individual within the disciplined stillness of the Evzones. Young men from different backgrounds come together to sustain an institution and its rituals. Through eyes, posture and the small differences between bodies maintaining the same position, I attend to the physical and mental effort this demands. Masculinity, fragility and connection exist within that ceremonial presence. In the movement photographs, coordinated gestures sometimes approach the language of dance.
A study in ritual.
