At Mixwell in Bali, queer life fills the room: on stage, behind the bar and among the audience. These photographs celebrate the pleasure, openness and sense of belonging that make this space worth showing.

A place to be seen.
With queer spaces increasingly under pressure, I wanted to show what they make possible. Mixwell brings gay and trans people, drag performers, staff and visitors together in a space where people can express themselves and enjoy being together.
The rich reds, electric blues, magentas and greens are part of that celebration. I let the camera take in the light, bodies and performances, alongside the smiles and encounters that give the place its warmth.
For me, Mixwell is a beacon of how a queer space can feel: vibrant, welcoming and open. These photographs celebrate the people who make it, and their freedom to be seen.
